It is planting season as you know and we have been working hard on getting everything planted! We found this method called Back To Eden Gardening and it just made sense for our front yard. I really wanted to increase our planting area and find a way to save on water and this method appears to be the answer!
If you are making an apple pie or making apple sauce, why not take advantage of that moment and make some apple cider vinegar? It takes a couple months of fermenting and with the right tools it takes minimal time out of your day to take care of it. It will save you some money too, if you use apple cider vinegar!
I am always looking for recipes that don't contain sugar because I LOVE to indulge in deserts, but don't want processed sugar and I have created the queen of all pies. I actually found a recipe (can't recall where now) for making an apple slice dish and I made it and as I was enjoying it I thought this would make a great pie.
I found out that Ox tails are good for bone broth and I happened to see them at our local Kroger (I rarely buy meat from Kroger) so I grabbed a couple packages. The packages were 1.5lbs and the cost was 18.00$ rounded. I thought it was outrageous but I wanted to give them a try so I sucked it up and bought them.
I will try, the next time I make it to take photos, but it will be a little bit because it will take me awhile to go through the butter I made yesterday. Two pounds of butter makes about 6-8 sticks depending on how big you make them and that is the nice part about making butter, you can vary the sizes and shapes of your bars.
I don’t have a cow or a goat although I really wish I did, and I hope to one day be able to do that. The closest I can get right now is to buy into dairy shares because Colorado has made it illegal to purchase raw milk in the state (makes zero sense to me, but I assure you it has nothing to do with safety and everything to do with the almighty dollar and who is allowed to collect those dollars and how)
